New Delhi: The DRI caught a large consignment of gold from New Delhi railway station on the basis of intelligence and eight people have been arrested in this case. The value of gold caught is Rs 43 crore.
The special thing is that these people used to bring gold in special clothes tied in the chest. According to DRI officials, based on intelligence, he was investigating an international gold smuggler gang for the last one month.
The Rajdhani Express from Dibrugarh was raided at New Delhi railway station on August 28 in a gold smuggling case. In this raid, eight people sitting on the train were arrested and recovered 504 gold biscuits from them, weighing more than 86 kg. The price of this gold is 43 crores.

The accused told in interrogation that the gold came from Myanmar to Delhi via Manipur and Guwahati. This gold was to be supplied to some people in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. This syndicate used to recruit poor people from different parts of the country into their gang for smuggling with the greed to earn money quickly. All those arrested are from the Sangli area of Maharashtra. The mastermind of this syndicate is being searched.
