all passengers arriving from the UK, mandatory self-paid RT-PCR #COVID19 testing and seven-day institutional quarantine - Delhi International Airport
New Delhi: Indira Gandhi Airport (IGI airport) of Delhi has clarified the instructions regarding corona testing and isolation rules of air travelers coming from Britain by tweeting on Friday evening. It says that the waiting period for Kovid's RTPCR Test can be up to 10 hours. Passengers will have to make arrangements for their stay during the period of investigation and testing. The new rules state that a 7-day quarantine will be mandatory for passengers arriving from the UK by flight, even if their RTPCR test has been negative.

Delhi Airport has said in the tweet that all air travelers coming from the UK will have to undergo RTPCR test immediately before the journey and while reaching India. Passengers who are RTPCR test positive or negative will have to stay quarantined at the government facility center for 7 days and stay in home isolation for 7 days. The tweet, however, does not say whether special concessions such as pregnant women can be granted as an exception or not.

The notification came after an appeal made by Kejriwal to the Center on Thursday, demanding a ban on flights to and from the UK by 31 January. But after the demand was not accepted, Kejriwal tweeted at 2.30 pm and informed about the new amended rules. The passengers said that they were not told anything about this change.
