Sindhu loses in the semi-finals, Taiju won the one-sided match

World No. 1 Taiju Ying of Chinese Taipei defeated PV Sindhu 21-18, 21-12 at the Tokyo Olympics. In the first game, there was a tough competition between the two. However, in the second game, the Chinese Taipei player won in a one-sided fashion. Sindhu will now take on Xiao Bing He of China for the bronze medal. The match will take place on Sunday at 5 pm.

The main 5 reasons for the defeat of Sindhu

Sindhu entered the Olympic semi-finals for the first time against an opponent whose head-to-head record is better than her. Taiju also proved it with his game. He defeated Sindhu in netplay, long rallies and line judgment.

1. Long rallies: Sindhu could not play many aggressive shots of Taiju in the semi-finals. Taiju exhausted Sindhu to get the point with a smash. He forced Sindhu to play long rallies on the court.

2. Line Judgment: Sindhu's line calling was also not good. There were 7 times in the match when he did not respond to Taiju's shot thinking that the shuttle was going out, but the shuttle fell in. Due to this Sindhu had to bear the loss.

3. Netplay: Taiju played shots close to the net several times during the match. In the first game, Sindhu answered this, but in the second game, Sindhu looked tired. Sindhu's every shot from close to the net was being stopped in her court itself.

4. Mind games: Taiju makes better use of mind games. Taiju forced Sindhu to play the way she wanted. Taiju played low shots on Sindhu's strong side four-handed. Along with this, Taiju's better record also dominated Sindhu.

5. Forced to do extras: Taiju also forced Sindhu to try some extras. Sindhu made a cross-court shot against Taiju, but the shot either fell outside the court or Taiju entangled Sindhu in a brilliant return shot.
