Rape victim died in Mumbai, was tortured with an iron rod

A rape victim in Mumbai died in hospital on Saturday. A 34-year-old woman was raped and brutally assaulted inside a tempo in suburban Sakinaka in Mumbai on Friday. 

 The rape victim was admitted to the hospital for treatment, where she died. The police had arrested Mohan Chauhan (45), an accused in the case, shortly after the incident. 

 According to news agency PTI, a police officer said that in the early hours of Friday, the police control room received a call that a man was beating a woman on Khairani Road. 

The police team reached the spot to trace the woman, the officer said. The woman, covered in blood, was taken to the Municipal Corporation-run Rajawadi Hospital. 

According to the preliminary investigation, the woman was raped and attacked with iron rods in her private parts, a Mumbai Police official said. He told that the incident happened inside a tempo parked on the side of the road. 

The officer said that bloodstains have also been found inside the vehicle. According to ANI, former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said that the Sakinaka incident is very unfortunate. 

This is going to soot to humanity. Fast track court should be prepared immediately. The accused should be given capital punishment. The incidents of rape, gang rape are increasing a lot in the state since the last month.
