Former selectors in trouble for giving priority to Suryakumar Yadav over Pujara

Sunil Joshi, the former selector of the Indian cricket team, started a new debate before the start of the Test series against Australia and then came under attack on social media.

A series of four Test matches are to be held between India and Australia. The first match will be played in Nagpur from February 9.

Discussions are going on regarding this Test match because this Test match is very important regarding the ICC's Test ranking.

The Indian team has been announced for the first two Test matches. Ravindra Jadeja has returned to this team. But Suryakumar Yadav has also got a place in the team.

The former selector, in his tweet a day ago, advocated keeping Suryakumar Yadav in the team in place of Cheteshwar Pujara.

What was it then, people started trolling him on social media and also started asking by what logic he has advocated Suryakumar Yadav instead of Pujara.

Suryakumar Yadav is an important part of the T20 team and is also the vice-captain. But even in ODIs, he is not getting regular chances. While questions have also been raised about his selection for the Test team.

In such a situation, Sunil Joshi's advocacy of Suryakumar Yadav is not being accepted by the people.

On the other hand, Cheteshwar Pujara has been a part of the Indian Test team for a long time and his performance has also been good.

Pujara has played 98 Test matches for India so far and has scored 7014 runs at an average of 44.39. He has also scored a double century in Tests.

Pujara has only five one-day international matches in his part, while he has not played a single T20 international match for India.

On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav has not played a single Test match. Whereas for India, he has played 20 One Day Internationals.

But his best record has been in T20 international matches. He has scored 1675 runs for India in 48 T20 matches.

Indian team selector and former cricketer Sunil Joshi wrote in his tweet that the team should be like this for the first test from his side.

Referring to the playing XI from his side, Sunil Joshi wrote – Will India's team look like this for the first Test? Discussion between Pujara and Suryakumar. Also a tough fight between Akshar and Kuldeep.

According to Sunil Joshi, the 11 players of the Indian team should be Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, KS Bharat, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.

Former India cricketer Doda Ganesh objected to Sunil Joshi's comment.

He wrote on Twitter that a former selector has given importance to Suryakumar over Pujara for Test matches. How can you even think that a person who hasn't even played a Test can replace Pujara?

Doda Ganesh has also written that it is not surprising that Pujara has been made a scapegoat all his life.

A Twitter user has even written that thank god you are no longer a selector.

Apart from this, many people have expressed disagreement with the opinion of Sunil Joshi.
