Despite shortage of engineers and abundance of officers, Executive Engineer will auction LDA's property worth thousands of crores
Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority, which is facing problems due to shortage of engineers at every step including development works, is also being made to do the work of property officer from an engineer. Despite being posted in LDA for a long time and being transferred to Gorakhpur Development Authority by the government last month, Executive Engineer Manoj Sagar has been given the responsibility of auctioning LDA's commercial property worth thousands of crores just before the increase in DM circle rate. Such is the situation when LDA not only does not have even 25 percent engineers left as compared to the requirement, but dozens of officers capable of looking after property work are also posted there.

Let us tell you that despite being the Executive Engineer of Electrical Mechanical, Manoj Sagar has been looking after the work of electrical as well as civil and commercial and bulk sale for many years. However, after the retirement and transfer of executive engineers in the past years, there are only five EEs left in LDA instead of 15. The situation is such that one executive engineer has to look after three zones, while in the map cell, not even one executive engineer is being deployed instead of two.
At the same time, the number of officers of the authority and other services capable of looking after the work of property officer is quite high at present, even after this, questions are being raised about sidelining the officers in the work of commercial and bulk sale.

It is worth noting that on the instructions of LDA Vice President Prathamesh Kumar, the authority is opening the e-auction portal from tomorrow i.e. July 4. This time, apart from residential plots and flats of 60 square meters, more than 300 plots of group housing, schools, nursing homes, marriage halls, facilities, hotels, fine dining and mixed land use etc. located in various schemes will be included in the auction.
