Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh : Artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming part of school education in Uttar Pradesh, with thousands of students getting an opportunity to test their skills in one of the state’s major technology-focused education initiatives.

Under Project Praveen, nearly 50,000 students from across Uttar Pradesh appeared for a state-level Artificial Intelligence (AI) examination, with more than 89% of participants successfully clearing the test.

The results also highlighted strong regional performance. Students from Western Uttar Pradesh and Bundelkhand emerged among the top-performing groups, while students who struggled in the examination will receive additional support through special remedial AI training modules.

More than 12,500 students scored above 80%, placing them in the excellent performance category. The overall average score across the examination was 70.41 marks.

Western Uttar Pradesh Leads the State in AI Exam Performance

Among the different regions of Uttar Pradesh, Western UP recorded the strongest overall performance.

A total of 18,395 students from the region participated in the examination and achieved an average score of 74.3. Around 37.8% of these students secured scores in the excellent category, making Western UP the leading region in terms of average performance.

Bundelkhand also delivered an impressive performance. Students from the region recorded an average score of 74.2, almost matching Western Uttar Pradesh.

One of the most encouraging figures from Bundelkhand was its low percentage of students scoring below 50 marks. Only **4.9% of students** in the region fell into this category, the lowest among the regions mentioned in the examination results.

Meanwhile, students from Central Uttar Pradesh recorded an average score of 69.7.

In Purvanchal, 14,387 students from 21 districts participated in the examination. The region recorded an average score of **64.7**, indicating a greater need for additional academic and technical support compared with the better-performing regions.
