New Delhi: 60,000 adhik new cases of Covid-19 have come up in the country for the first time within 24 hours. On Friday, the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country has crossed 2 million.


Covid-19 cases in the country took 110 days to reach one lakh and in 59 days this figure crossed 10 lakh. After this, it took just 21 days for infection cases to cross the 20 lakh mark.

This is the ninth consecutive day since July 30 when over 50,000 cases of infection have occurred.

According to the updated data released by the country's Health Ministry at eight o'clock on Friday morning, 62,538 cases of Covid-19 in one day have brought the total number of infections to 20,27,074.

In the last 24 hours, 886 more people died due to this infectious disease taking the total number of dead to 41,585. At the same time, the number of patients recovering from this disease has increased to 13.78 lakh.

At the same time, the number of patients recovering from Corona virus infection increased to 1,378,105 on Friday. That is, the rate of healthy patients in the country is 67.98 percent.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 607,384 patients are currently under treatment in the country, which is 29.96 percent of the total cases of infection. The death rate has fallen to 2.07 percent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 22,788,393 samples were tested for Kovid-19 till 6 August out of which 639,042 samples were tested on Thursday.

Of the 886 people who died in the last 24 hours till Friday, 316 were Maharashtra, 110 in Tamil Nadu, 93 in Karnataka, 72 in Andhra Pradesh, 61 in Uttar Pradesh, 56 in West Bengal, 27 in Gujarat, 26 in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh of 17, Delhi of 15 and 12 of 12 people died in Rajasthan and Telangana.

Peru ranks seventh among Corona infection cases, with 455,409 cases reported so far while 20,424 deaths. Chile recorded eighth place with 366,671 cases while 9,889 deaths occurred.

Colombia is ranked ninth after Chile in infection cases. There have been 357,710 cases of infection while 11,939 deaths have occurred.

Iran is in 10th place after Colombia. 320,117 cases of infection have been reported here, while 17,976 people have died.
