Lucknow: UP STF has taken major action in the Umesh Pal murder case. Mafia Atiq Ahmed's son Asad and shooter Ghulam Ahmed have been encountered. UP STF has taken this action in Jhansi.

Umesh Pal was gunned down on 24 February 2023 by entering his house. Six shooters, including Atiq Ahmed's son Asad, was seen on CCTV firing bullets and bombs. The next day, Umesh's wife filed a report against Atiq, Ashraf, Shaista, Atiq's son, Guddu Muslim, Usman, and several unknown operatives and associates of Atiq.

The police had already killed Usman alias Vijay Chowdhary in an encounter. A reward of five lacks each was declared on Asad, Ghulam, Guddu Muslim, Sabir, and Armaan. According to STF officials, on Thursday afternoon, the team laid siege to the information about the presence of Asad and Ghulam in Jhansi. Both fired. Both got killed in retaliatory firing.
